Scott has navigation in his blood and a passion for adventure and discovery. His paternal ancestors for multiple generations were Master’s of sailing ships out of Liverpool, England. Scott graduated top of his class in the US Navy’s Navigation School and became the youngest Navigation Officer in the history of the Navy’s Assault Craft Unit One where he worked closely with the US Navy SEAL Teams. As a high performance leadership and team coach, Scott continues to help “navigate” clients toward their futures.
Scott received his BA in Business Administration from Cal Lutheran University, and MBA from Pepperdine University. His continuing education includes extensive study with Dr. Fernando Flores, Julio Olalla, and Dr. Richard Strozzi Heckler. He was certified as a coach by the Newfield Network in 1992, and as a Master Somatic Coach by the Strozzi Institute in 2002. Scott continues to explore and invent new ways of learning and achievement. Scott has dedicated his life to learning, embodying and applying emerging technologies from the areas of somatics, philosophy, linguistics, athletics, integral studies, experiential and action learning.
As a speaker, Scott engages and motivates his audiences to expand their vision, explore their passions and to embrace the journey that is their lives as learners and adventures. Scott has delivered speeches for the following organizations and events:

Scott has traveled over one million actual flight miles and visited over thirty countries to teach, speak, and learn. His adventures have included hitchhiking along the coast of Kenya, climbing the dreaded Mount Ventoux three times, following the entire Tour de France twice, being attacked by pirates in the Philippines, participating in missions with the US Navy SEALs, white water rafting every major river in Costa Rica, and successfully completing a four day “Vision Quest” going without food or water for four days and nights on a mesa in New Mexico in 108 degree heat. Recently, Scott took a small group on one of his signature “Joy of the Journey” learning adventures to experience the Tour de France first hand.
Scott is an avid cyclist, surfer, diver, and lover of the outdoors. Scott raced bicycles for the years and competed at the national and world levels. In 1996, at the National Sports Center Velodrome, he set the record for the flying 200-meter time trial which stood for twelve years and competed at the World Championships in Manchester England placing in the top ten in all five events entered. Scott continues to pursue his passion for cycling, surfing, scuba diving and exploring the outdoors.

In his 25 plus year career, Scott has coached rockstars, rocket scientists at NASA, and rock hard athletes including professional cycling teams and three time US National Professional Cycling Champion, Freddy Rodriquez. Scott motivates his clients to ignite their passion to reach for and live at one's edge where there is the most learning, aliveness and personal growth. Scott enables his students and clients to make dramatic improvements in their personal and professional lives and thereby experiencing a high quality and more satisfactory life. Work at Scott's Institute for Embodied Wisdom helps ignite or re-awaken student's ambition and ability to make larger contributions at home, work and in their communities. Recently, Scott worked with the leadership team of a billion dollar business to transform the company's culture and results. The business saw a 70% increase in net profits after tax and a dramatic increase in employee engagement in just ten months.
Teacher of Embodied Learning
Scott believes one of the best ways to really accelerate learning and growth is through “whole-self” learning (learning that involves the body as well as the mind). To help his clients experience the power and value of this type of learning, Scot has invented a variety of experiences including “Mount Everest Accent,” a S.E.A.L. Team training simulation, and “Warrior, King, Lover, Fool - Embodying Archetypes for Powerful Leadership” and more. He also is one of the very few people certified to lead The Samurai Game which many refer to as one of the most powerful one-day personal development experiences you can have. Scott has created a variety of programs and workshops which use embodied learning as their foundation including; Embodying the Warrior Spirit, Power, Presence & Authenticity, The Art of Effortless Attraction, and The Art of Leadership Mastery. . In addition, Scott has been an adjunct professor at George Mason University, Virginia where he co-led a graduate-level course entitled Coaching and Organizational Learning, and has been a Mentor Coach and Program Facilitator for the Newfield Network's coaching certification and graduate programs.
Scott facilitates senior executive groups, boards and ownership groups to become aligned on strategy, principles, objectives and vision.
Scott is avid volunteer and supporter in his community. He has been a snow ski guide for blind and disabled skiers, worked to support fundraising at the Union Resume Mission on Los Angeles’ infamous Skid Row, donated his time, services and resources in support of causes and organizations such as foster care for homeless children, A Thousand Joys, the Boy Scouts, and organizations dedicated to the environment including the Pachamama Alliance and to organizations building schools and health clinic’s in Africa.
